HOUSING IN BRITAIN

(Rec. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 9. Lord Portal, Minister of Works, indicated in the House of Lprds that hundreds of thousands of families after the war will live in prefabricated houses erected and leased by the Government.

Some of the houses will be built in a week, but none will be allowed to stand longer than 10 years. Seme of the houses will be steel-framed and capable of mass production before assembly.
