SENTENCED BY FASCIST TRIBUNAL . LONDON, Jan. 31. The German News Agency announced that a special Italian tribunal had sentenced three generals and four admirals who were charged with having laid down their arms. No details of the sentences were given. The accused were General Garibaldi (Commander-in-Chief of the Italian forces In North Africa), General Roboti (commander of the Second Italian Army in Sicily), and General Vercellino (Commander-in-Chief of the Italian Army in France). Admiral Campione was charged with having surrendered the isle of Thodos, Admiral Maseherpa with surrendering Leros, Admiral Caversi with surrendering Pantellaria, and Admiral Lenardo with not defending the harbour of Augusta, thus opening the gate of Italy to the Allies.

Three other generals and two admirals who were involved in the charges escaped before they could be arrested.
