TAIERI RIVER TRUST

The monthly meeting of the Taieri River Trust, held at Mosgiel yesterday, was attended by Messrs H. W. Wilson (chairman), C. Findlay, J. Young, and E. J. Lyall.

Accounts totalling £2768 2s 2d were passed for payment. The Dunedin City Corporation wrote explaining that no arrangement had been made as to the retention of any portion of the Waipori dam for flood waters, and generally in connection with the intended raising c-f the dam.—lt was decided that the trust should further discuss the matter with the City Corporation in an endeavour to come to some arrangement.

Mr Thomas Morrison wrote asking the trust what it proposed to do regarding the traffic and the footbridge over Lee Creek op his property.—lt was decided to advise Mr Morrison that any damage to the bridge would be repaired, and that a new footbridge would be erected in place of the existing one. It was decided to meet the legal representatives of Mr Robert Thomson o-n the ground to discuss a claim made by him. While in that locality an inspection would also be made of Hamilton’s drain. The foreman was Instructed to remove willows in the path of the dragline along Lee Creek.
