OPEN REVOLT
ZERO HOUR IN EUROPE
BELIEVED TO BE VERY CLOSE
LONDON. Oct. 31. It is believed in some quarters in Moscow that Allied plans have reached the stage where the zero hour for an open rising against Hitler's forces inside Europe is very close, says Reuter’s Moscow correspondent. This is indicated by the prominence given in Moscow to appeals to patriots inside occupied Europe. The Algiers radio yesterday broadcast an appeal to French workers to be ready to assist Allied armies landing in Europe. The German News Agency says the Allies are preparing for a new attack against Europe from both north and south. Admirql Saalwarchter, naval correspondent of the news agency, says the following Allied preparations have been observed:—First, large numbers of ships have been concentrated in the English Channel; secondly, three convoys totalling 350 ships were met on Thursday in the Straits of Gibraltar, apparently on their way into the MediResistarice to the Germans in Czechoslovakia is on the increase. There is not a single day without executions of patriots of Bohemia and Moravia, which reflects their stubborn work. In Slovakia soldiers and civil servants are refusing to obey their puppet Government. Students are holding demonstrations, and the peasantry is rising. All men and women in Czechoslovakia will very soon follow the example of the Soviet and Jugoslav guerrillas and thus contribute to the liberation of their country.
