TRADES COUNCIL SUGGESTION (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 22. Support for any move by the New Zealand Government to make money available for the relief of the food shortage in Bengal has been given bv the Canterbury Trades Council. This information was given to-day by the president of the council,. Mr John Roberts, who said the membersof the council had been concerned at th° tragic situation in Bengal. They realised that it would hardly be possible to arrange food shipments from New Zealand in time, but if food could be bought elsewhere, it might be possible to give assistance.
