A STORMY DEBATE
VICTORIAN PARLIAMENT MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The new State United AustraliaCountry Party Ministry met Parliament for the first time to-day, and after a stormy debate Mr A. A. Dunstan was granted an adjournment for two weeks to enable a legislative programme to be prepared. It is evident, in view of recent events, that the Labour Opposition intends to take every opportunity to avenge what it describes as the U.A.P.’s betrayal of the short-lived Labour Ministry. Public opinion, in which all the newspapers agree, is that Labour should have been given a better chance.
