PRICES GENERALLY FIRMER (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, July 13. Values for fat wethers showed an improvement of 3s per head at the Lorneville sale to-day. Fat ewe values remained firm, and best medium and inferior sorts were easier by 2s per head. The yarding of fat sheep was an exceptionally large one for this time of the year. Fat cattle were in small supply, and values generally showed an improvement.

Included in the fat sheep yarding were a number of fat lambs, for which there was good competition, at values ranging from 20s to 275. Heavy-weight wethers realised from 41s 6d to 44s 9d; prime medium-weights, 35s to 40s 8d; lightweights, 35s to ,37s 6d; small, 29s to 325; extra good ewes, 34s to 36s 6d; good quality, 28s 6d to 31s; medium, 25s 6d to 27s 6d; inferior, 18s to 21s. Heavy-weight bullocks made from £l7 to £lB ss; medium-weight, £l4 10s to £l6; unfinished, £ll to £l2 10s; good quality medium-weight heifers,‘from £l2 to £l3 10s; handy-weight, £lO 10s to £ll ss; light-weights, £9 5s to £lO. Medium quality cows made from £lO to £ll ss; unfinished. £8 to £9; inferior. £5 15s to £7.
