OTAGO CENTRAL POWER BOARD

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Otago Central Electric Power Board was attended bv Messrs W. Bringans (in the chair), C. J. Spain, W. H. Lopdell, J. F. Partridge, W. Partridge, A. T. Allison, G. T. Alexander, W. H. James, and W. P. Saunders. The engineer-manager (Mr A. E. Ellis), in the course of his annual report, stated that the three stations had shared the load without creating any difficulties. The transmission line had been extended to Wakatipu, giving a 33kv. to that district, and interconnecting the Wye Creek plant with the existing supply. The generating plant, distribution equipment and lines were in good order. The units generated and purchased had remained almost stationary, but the peak and average loads had fallen. Only two dredges were oil the lines during this year. The gross revenue from the sale of power had decreased, and the revenue was practically the same as that of the year 1940-41. The net loan liability against capital assets was £127.758, 41 per cent, of the total ass'ets being free of debt. .... , The chairman, moving the adoption ot the report and balance sheet, said the board was in a satisfactory position, despite the difficult times. The domestic revenue had shown a slight increase, and if was pleasing to note that even with higher costs the operating expenses had not increased unduly. He thanked .members for their co-operation, and referred in complimentary terms to the work of the. engineer-manager and his staff. The motion was seconded by Mr Lopdell and carried. , . . Mr Bringans was unanimously re-elected chairman for the ensuing year.
