, ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of Bruce County Council was held when there were present Crs H. M. Driver, W. J. Sheat, A. King, D. McGregor, T. Gage A Craig. J. Allison. A. Renton, A. Higgs, and F. G. Galloway. ■ ■ • . Cr W. J. Sheat was elected chairman for the ensuing year and Cr A. Renton deputy chairman. The honorarium of the retiring chairman (Cr H. M. Driver) was fiX The Chairman referred to the death of Cr Jasper Clark, and a motion of Mldolence with the relatives was passed. The council. adjourned for 20 minutes as a mark of respect. Ordinary Meeting The ordinary meeting was presided oVer bv Cr Sheat. The clerk reported that receipts for the month totalled £ll2 14s Bd, and expenditure £1142 14s 3d (South Otago Hospital Board £446 17s lid, works £286 10s). The credit balance at date W The town clerk, Milton, wrote asking the council’s support for a resolution protesting against the policy of the South Otago Hospital Board in. raising capital expenditure by levy on local bodies, and recommending that expenditure of this nature be met from loan moneys.—The council decided to support the motion. Mr Kinder Clark (Lovells Flat) Was elected to fill the vacancy caused on the council by the death of his father.
