VIEWS OF ANGLICAN CHURCH EQUAL FOOTING WITH SOLDJERS / , LONDON, May 28. , '“Much as we would wish to see the abolition of bombing altogether, we realise that there is no realism in such an attitude,” says the newspaper Church of England, commenting on the bombing controversy. “It is the reverse of the Christian view which argues that civilians must not be killed while acquiescing that soldiers must be killed. If the world persists in war, let its penalties and consequences be equally distributed. We cannot sympathise with the agitation that the bombing of towns should be stopped on the ground that it kills some civilians. We all become one in the bombers’ sight.”
