AMERICAN ADMIRAL

SECOND VISIT TO DOMINION CO-ORDINATION OF SUPPLIES (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 30. In the course of a tour in which he is co-ordinating supply services for the United States, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, Vice-admiral William Lowndes Calhoun has arrived in New Zealand. Formerly senior officer on the staff of Admiral. William F. Halsey, commander of the South Pacific area and the South Pacific force, in charge of supply, he is now commander of the service of supply of the Pacific Fleet. A former visit to New Zealand was made by Admiral Calhoun last November.' At a press conference to-day he stated that his present visit was fjtrictly in line of duty, and concerned problems of supply for the army, navy, and fUarine Corps. He indicated that the plan for the unification of the three services had caused him to undertake a considerable amount of travelling on both sides of the Pacific in order that the matter should be thoroughly investigated.
