BALCLUThX APPEAL CASES A sitting of the Industrial Man-power Committee—Messrs M. W. Grantham (chairman), S. D. Macpherson, and H, H. Gillard—was held at Balclutha cn Wednesday afternoon. Decision 'was reserved in the case of Walter Alan Collier, who appealed against the refusal 6f the man-power officer to grant permission to terminate his employment as bushman with the firm of Andrew Sharpe, -Ltd., Tawanui. The hearing of the adjourned case in which Marjorie Jean Guest appealed against the direction of the man-power officer to work at the Bruce Woollen Mills, Milton, was continued. —The appellant gave evidence as to the difficulty her mother had experienced in obtaining domestic help.—The appeal was allowed. Hugh Ludlow appealed against the direction of the man-power officer to resume his former employment at the linon flax mill, Finegand.—The appeal was disallowed, the appellant to start on Monday next at 8 a.m.
