PEALING OF BELLS

BAN IN BRITAIN LIFTED LONDON, May 27. The restrictions on the use of church bells have been removed., Church bells may be rung for any purpose at any time provided they are not liable to be mistaken for an air raid or gas attack signal. The Home Secretary, Mr Herbert Morrison, announced this Government decision in the House of Commons, but said the Government must be free to review the position in the light of changed circumstances.
