MOVE IN THE BALKANS

A GERMAN OFFENSIVE DRIVE AGAINST GUERRILLAS LONDON, May 27. Fearing an Allied invasion of the Balkans, Hitler is reported to have struck there in an'•effort to bring the territory under complete Axis control. Jugoslav circles in London state that German, Italian, and Bulgarian units have launched a general offensive against General Mikhailovitch’s positions in Montenegro and Herzegovina. Independent partisan forces have joined General Mikhailovitch’s forces, which are reported to have retired towards the mountains in' central Montenegro.
