LOSSES IN TUNISIA

ALLIED TOTAL UNDER 70,000 RUGBY, May 27. Stating in Washington that reports were incomplete, the Secretary for War, Mr H. L. Stimson, said that the American casualties in North Africa from November 8 to May 15 were 2184 killed, 9437 wounded, and 6937 missing,, including prisoners. He estimated that the Axis casualties in Tunisia alone were 30,000 killed, 26,400 wounded, and 260,00 Q prisoners. The estimated Allied losses in Tunisia were fewer than 70,000, he added. /
