ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FALL .FROM TRAM Miss Ellen Trinder, who lives at 431 b George street, received injuries to the head when, she fell from a tram in the Octagon at 6.55 last night. She was admitted to the Hospital at 7 p.m. INJURY TO HAND Mrs Eleanor Stevens Injured her left hand when she slipped and fell near her home at 27* Law street last night. She was admitted to the Hospital at 9 p.m., and her condition was later reported to be satisfactory. ' FATAL GUNSHOT WOUND (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 2. A shooting fatality occurred at Rangiriri yesterday, the victim being Gustav Ludwig Winger, a retired sawmlller, aged 75, of Rangiriri, He was one of a shooting party, and was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He died almost immediately. DUCK-SHOOTING TRAGEDY (P.A.) GORE. May 1. George Wayte, aged 41, a married man, with two children, a farmer, of Mandeville, was accidentally killed this morning while duck shooting. He was struck by a shot fired by his brother-in-law while in a mai mat. JOCKEY SERIOUSLY INJURED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 2. A well-known jockey. James Frederick Fergus, married, aged 30, who was injured at Ellerslie on Saturday, was taken to hospital with concussion and multiple injuries. He was in a serious condition to-night. His fall occurred in the hurdle race.
