ITALIAN FASCIST PARTY

‘position of officials MUST JOIN FIGHTING FORCES (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Apl. 30. The Rome radio quoted a new order under which members of the Fascist Party are no longer protected by party jobs from joining the forces. The announcement said: “Members of the Fascist Party at present employed on the national directorate and provincial or party organisations who are fit to fight must be replaced by wounded members of the services.” The radio also announced a new article to the Fascist statute, under which the secretary and vice-secretary of the Fascist Party are to take the oath to Signor Mussolini that they will serve the cause of the Fascist revolution with all their strength and, if necessary, shed their blood for the cause. A further Cabinet reshuffle is revealed by the announcement that Signor Mussolini has appointed a new Undersecretary of State for Corporations, a new President of the Industrial Confederation, hew presidents of three major industrial undertakings, and a new Director-general of Social Welfare. Professor Giovanni Balella replaces Count Volpi di Misurata as the President of the Italian Confederation of Industry. Count Misurata has been chief of Italy’s economic organisations for many years. He visited Berlin and consulted with Dr Funk, German Minister of Economic Affairs.
