DOMESTIC WORK

Sir,—After reading the comments upon an industry in which labour wages are 18s a week, etc., I have wondered if anybody has thought of wages for domestic work. There are many cases of domestic work which need looking into. A few years ago people offered 7s 6d and 10s a week (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) to a person of 26 years who had been used to doing domestic work for the greater part of her life. The position seems to be much the same to-day.—l am, etc., Domestic.
