ROXBURGH

Boisterous weather prevented many people from attending the Anzac Day service in the Roxburgh Town Hall. Prior to the service the Home Guard marched to the Soldiers’ Memorial, where wreaths were placed by representatives of the Roxburgh District Returned Services’ Association and the Roxburgh District High School. The service was conducted by the Rev. D. Heggie in the absence of the Mayor, Mr F. A. Laloli. Associated with Mr Heggie were the Rev. Mr Bell, Mr A. Burton, presirent of the Roxburgh R.S.A., and MiBrown, president of the Lawrence R.S.A., who gave the address. The pianist was Miss O. Gordon, and the “ Last Post ” and the reveille were sounded by Bandmaster W. Haughton.
