THE CROIX DE GUERRE

WON BY CANTERBURY PILOT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Apl. 22. For distinguished services rendered to the Fighting French Air Force, Flight Lieutenant Geoffrey Charles Russell Pannell, R.N.Z.A.F., D.F.C., has been awarded the Croix de Guene, states a report from the Air Department. Only one other Groix de Guerre has been won by a New Zealand airman of the present war This went to Flying Officer R. D. Max, D.F.C., ot Nelson, in May, 1940. Flight Lieutenant Pannell s father, Mr C. Pannell, lives at Patiti, Spnngston.
