LANDING IN EUROPE
MOSCOW WARNS NAZIS ALLIED MOVE IMMINENT LONDON, Mar. 15. The Moscow radio last night warned the German people that an AngloAmerican landing in Europe was imminent. Dr Breening, the Berlin radio’s political commentator, declared: “ Germany is getting ready for gigantic assaults.” The Moscow radio said that the German High Command knows that a landing is coming. This is shown by the systematic evacuation of the coastal areas of France, Belgium, Holland, and Norway. London newspapers, advocating an immediate second front, are claiming that if Hitler can stabilise his front in Russia his next blow will be to the west. The military correspondent of Reynolds’s News says all the evidence points to the conclusion that Hitler is fighting to hold a defensive line in the east, and will not launch a new offensive against the Red Army this spring.
