PRISONERS OF WAR
THE VATICAN’S ACTIVITIES RUGBY, Mar. 10. The Foreign Secretary, Mr Anthony Eden, when asked in the House of Commons what aid had been given by the Vatican Secretariat on behalf of British prisoners of war, said the Vatican had given much material aid and moral comfort to British prisoners in Italy and the Far East, which'was very much appreciated by the Government. When asked if it were true that nearly 100,000 communications from British prisoners had been transmitted by the Vatican, Mr Eden said this might very well be so.
