HARVEST LABOUR
ARMY SCHEME IN NORTH OTAGO The attention of farmers is drawn to an announcement in the advertising columns regarding the army harvesting scheme. Camps for harvest labour have been established at Oamaru, Duntroon, and Maheno, and farmers requiring assistance should get in touch with the officer in charge. At least 24 hours’ notice, or more if possible, should be given of requirements. so that transport may be arranged. Telephones have been installed at the camps, and the numbers are being advertised. Farmers are required to provide morning and afternoon tea, and, where possible, to provide the mid-day meal.
