Chris tma^"T^celsr^forr*~American troops in Australia. pouring into the special army post office at New York from all over the United States in an unprecedented avalanche. Some over-optimistic souls sent in packages in very flimsy wrapping which were unequal to a journey of one mile, let alone ’13,000 miles. . ■ ■. The chief of the Army Postal Service, General Adams, told the Australian Associated Press that “ it could not be given even the approximate volume of the mail because it was a dark military secret,” but he felt sure it would reach Australia on time.
