Sandstone is on a 3.42 mark in the Selma Trot, to be run. at Ashburton. R. B. Berry's team for Wellington will be Pacing Power, Lucky Gem, Free Bond, and GlenarifT. A southern report states that the Gore Racing Club's programme, containing one trot, has been approved by the Trotting Association. Twenty-five horses from Auckland and the Waikato were nominated for the Wellington Trotting Club's meeting. Free Bond, who won at Wingatui in 3mih 31 2-ssec, was handicapped at 4min 54sec for the Roosevelt Handicap, to be run at Trentham. In connection with the Addington meeting and the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting, both held on August 29, the Government received £14,413 13s in taxation. Sandstone was sold in a good sporting spirit to his present owner for a shilling. It would take a long line of shillings to buy him after his display at Wingatui on Saturday. Lucky Gem, who is a member of R. B. Berry's team for Wellington, was got by Lucky Jack from Sea Pearl, by Nelson Bingen—Pearl Child, by Rothschild. Sea Pearl was foaled in 1921 and took a record of 4min 28 4-ssec.
