LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE SOCIETY

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Society held an enjoyable social on Saturday. There was a good attendance of members and friends, and the president (Mr F. D. Swift) was in the chair. An amusing feature of the evening was a " song title" guessing competition, which was won by Mrs Brighting and Miss Kellett. Prizes for the most original dress in this competition were won by Mrs Smith and Mrs Moorehead. The following items were contributed:—Songs, Miss Cate, Miss Com Pullan. Miss Somervllle. Mr Englefield. and Mr Swift; duets, Misses Cate and Pullan; recitations, Mrs Oliver: Yorkshire reading, Mrs Walker. Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Hooper acted as accompanists.
