command of the United Nations' forces charged with opening a second front in Europe, probably during 1942." The correspondent cites a military source as saying, "Unquestionably the British War Office favours General McNaughton over all others."

Lieutenant-general A. G. McNaughton, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., has been Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Active Service Force since 1940. He served in the last war from 1914 to 1919. He is 55 years of age.
