PROMINENT RACING MEN (Rec. 1.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 16 The deaths of prominent racing men are announced. Mr J. J. Hackett, who was the leader in the betting rings in Australia, died to-day, aged 79. Few men of his profession earned greater respect or had more interesting careers ~ „ , Mr F. A. Moses, the well-known owner and breeder of racehorses at Arrowfield Stud, died yesterday. He was the owner of the Melbourne Cup winner, Poitrel, one of the few horses to beat Gloaming at weight-for-age. The death has also occurred of Mr John Mayo, a former owner of Fortune Hunter and other prominent Australian racehorses in the early part of the century.
