RACES AT WINGATUI Though the early indications on Saturday were for a warm summer dav. it was autumn that dictated the fashion gyles'worn at the Cup meeting at Wingatui. A fair proportion of country visitors mingled in the dense crowds that thronged ,the lawns and stands, and rain in the afternoon had little or no effect in damping the interest of patrons in the day’s sport. Spits in the new checks were conspicuous among the smart outfits, and hats in soft felts, with feather or fur trimming and accessories to tone, supplied a touch of colour. Well-tailored and dressy coats in black ana black costumes were also favoured, and there was a sprinkling of fur jackets
