THE NORWEGIAN COAST

BRITISH AIR ACTIVITY INCREASE WORRIES GERMANS LONDON, Feb. 23. It is believed that the Germans intend to attempt to cut the British supply line to Murmansk. This is supported by reports that the warships Von Tirpitz, Admiral Scheer, and Admiral Hipper are on their way to Trondheim. The increasing activity by British reconnaissance planes on the Norwegian coast is worrying the Germans. Air alarms at Trondheim have become so common that the Nazi newspapers no longer mention them. The Germans report frequently that Allied submarines and surface craft have been seen along the Norwegian coast, particularly around Kirkenes, inhere Russian naval units are reported to be almost constantly on patrol. The German admiral, Groos, states that a British invasion of Northern Norway or Petsamo would be suicidal.
