RIOTS AT TANGIER

SITUATION NOW QUIET RUGBY, Feb. 9. Following the protest made by the British Consul-general, Mr A. D. F Gascoigne, about the anti-British riots at Tangier, the commander of the Spanish forces, General Uriate, agreed to send troops. This has been done, and everything is now quiet. The question of payment of com.pensation for the damage done will probably arise, and it is possible that representations will be made to the. Spanish Government against this attempt to embitter relations between the Spanish and British Governments.
