BACON CUT UP IN COURT

LONDON, Dec. 20. A side of bacon was cut up by an expert at the clerk's table at Romford Police Court to prove that some back rashers sold at a shop contained more streaky bacon—a cheaper cut—than they should have done. Laura Streame, Upminster, manageress of the shop, was fined £5 for selling a cut of .bacon other than a cut specified under the Bacon Order. The customer saidshe paid 2s Id a pound for the bacon.
