TOWN HALL DANCE

CIRCULAR WALTZ CONTEST Five couples took part in the South Island Circular Waltz Championship, held at the weekly Town Hall Dance on Saturday night. The first place went to Mr and Mrs A. Ritchie, of Green Island, who won the Otago championship; and second place was taken by Miss Hill and Mr Paton, of Christchurch. The judge, Mr B. Blackler, of Christchurch, who judged the Centennial Waltzing Championship, said the winning couple was outstanding. The music for the dance was supplied by the Georgians* Strict Tempo Dance Band, and the vocalists were Miss M. Maharey, Mr D. Maharey and Mr A. Waller. At next week's dance the Otago Open Ballroom Championship will be decided.
