BALCLUTHA Stirling Dairy Factory.—The fifty-fifth annual meeting of shareholders of the Stirling Dairy Factory Company was held at Stirling on Saturday night, when there was a good attendance. Mr A. Anderson, chairman of directors, presided. The annual report showed that the average payout per lb butter-fat was Is Sid. The price paid for first grade was 17.5 d per lb, and for second grade 17d. The quantity of cfieese manufactured was 275 tons Bcwt. The balance sheet showed that the profit on the year's working was £3BBI, and the company had a credit balance of £5528. Th" report and balance sheet were adopted. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the directors to dispense with the pig scheme. The chairman and several %ther speakers opposed the recommendation, which was carried by 14 votes to 8. Messrs Anderson and Mosley were elected to the board of directors. The directors' recommendation to pay a 5 per cent, dividend was carried. Mr F. Cooke was reappointed auditor. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr T. Duncan (factory manager) and his staff, and to Mr Lyall (secretary). An appeal was made by the chairman for in*creased supply to the factory in the coming season. He pointed out that finance could be arranged for improvements to milking sheds whose. dairymen desired to arrange for a winter milk supply and for registration. A recommendation to the directors to revise the articles of association, and to pay particular attention to proxv voting, was carried. Golf.—The Balclutha- Golf Club concluded the 1941 season on Saturday last with a Canadian foursome over 10 holes which was won by Mrs Freeman and A. Marshall with a net scorce of 38. The president (Mr. R. R. Grigor) congratulated the club on its efforts on Friday pn behalf of the patriotic fund, and intimated that over £SO had been realised. Trophies won during the season were presented as follows:—Women's section—A Grade championship, Mrs Moffat; Fleming vase and silver button L.G.U. ringer competition, Mrs Moffat: Knock-out competition, Mrs Telford: eclectic competition, Mrs Eearr: bronze button L.G.U.. Mrs Sinclair. B Grade chompionship. Mrs Aitken: Miss Grant's trophy, Mrs Grace; Knock-out competition, Mrs Lothian: Saturday ringer competition, Mrs Allan: Wednesday ringer competition, Mrs Lothian.« Men's section: A Grade championship, J.
