WINGATUI CAMP

COMMUNITY SING On Thursday evening a successful community sing was held at Wlngatul camp. Mr J. F. Hlmburg ‘ was the leader, with Mrs J. Yule at the piano. The most popular numbers were ’’ There'll Always Be an England ” and ” We Are the Boys from Way Down Under.” The best number of the evening was “ Maori Battalion Song.” Two Maori members sang the song, and then the entire party joined in. The singing of the men was excellent. The assisting artists were Miss Gwenda Burt, Miss Doris Wilson, and Mr Frank White. Major Fairbrother thanked Mr Hlmburg and party for entertaining the officers and men. and expressed the hope that the party would again visit the camp. The visitors were entertained at supper.
