THE BOMBER COMMAND

ROYALTY VISITS STATIONS RUGBY, Oct. B. Their Majesties to-day visited two Royal Air Force Bomber Command stations, and conversed with airmen who carry out daring daylight raids on Germany and occupied territory. Their Majesties heard from the pilots the stories of some raids. They saw photographs on the walls in the crew room showing . Blenheims bombing Cherbourg and Ijmuiden, with bombs bursting on the target. The pilots and crews included New Zealanders, Australians, Canadians and South Africans, and their Majesties had a long talk with one New Zealand pilot, who recalled their Majesties’ visit to New Zealand when they were the Duke and Duchess of York.
