OTAGO HUNT CLUB

MEET AT GREEN ISLAND The final run for the season of the Otago Hunt was held at Brighton road on Saturday over the properties of Messrs G. Kerr, G. McLeod, and W. Pryde. There was a good attendance of'members and spectators, but the number of followers was not as large as it has been lately. At the conclusion of the hunt an enjoyable afternoon tea was served at the residence of Mr Pryde, and before leaving the master (Mr J. E. Brunton) took the' opportunity of thanking the property owners who have been so helpful throughout the season. The Simon Wright Trophy for the most consistent lady follower during the year was won by Miss E. Grant and Miss B. Stringer, who will hold the prize for six months each. Those who followed were:—The acting master (W. Muirhead) on Johnnie Walker, the acting deputy master (J. Morris) on Greyhawk. the huntsman (A. McKay) on Blackthorne, the whip (K. Russell) on Captain Ewing, Mrs Gorton on Rose Marie. Misses E. Grant on Mvstery and B. Stringer on Nightfall, Messrs D. Shaw on Sunny Boy, G. Kirk on Last Redowa, J. Muirhead on Donald, J. Geddes on Chum, T. Townsend on Many Ways, and N. Green on Royal Glen. A dual jumping contest, which was judged by Mr G. Reid, resulted as follows:—Dictator (D. Shaw) and Donald (J. Muirhead) 1, Johnnie Walker (W. Muirhead) and Captain Ewing (K. Russell) 2, Last Redowa (G. Kirk) and Chum (J. Geddes) 3.
