FATAL CRASH
AIRSPEED OXFORD MACHINE TWO PUPIL PILOTS KILLED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 28. Two airmen being trained at the Royal New- Zealand Air Force Station at Wigram lost their lives in a flying accident to-day when an’ Airspeed Oxford aeroplane crashed at Lake Ellesmere. They Were: Leading Aircraftman R. J. Brown, of Wellington. ■ ■ :^ ] Leading Aircraftman N. J. G. Marshall, of Springstori, Canterbury. The aeroplane crashed at 2.40 p.m. while coming iri to'land. The pilot, Leading Aircraftman Brown, was seriously injured, and died after being taken to the Christchurch Publio Hospital) Leading Aircraftman Marshall was killed instantly.
Leading Aircraftman Brown came from Wellington, his next-of-kin being his mother, Mrs C. M. Gilmour, of Wellington. The next-of-kin of Leading Aircraftman Marshall is his father, Mr J. W. Marshall, of Springston.
