SATISFACTORY CLEARANCE (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 27. There were good sales in most sections at Addington to-day. Store Sheep.—An entry of 3000, mostly evtes. which were not as keenly sought after as has been, the case recently. Fat Sheep.—An entry of 3000 of good quality. The sale was steady throughout, with wethers one shilling better and ewes firm. Best wethers made from 30s to 44s 4d, and others 20s to 295. Best ewes sold from 25s to 35s 4d, and others, 15s to 245. The few spring lambs offered sold at Is 3d per lb. . _ - Fat Cattle. —Thi entry was slightly smaller and of mediocre quality, and the sale was patchy, with values about the same as last week. Best beef made to 45s per 1001 b, and good 37s 6d to 40s per 1001 b. Best steers commanded from £ls to £23 17s 6d, and others from £9, while best heifers sold from £ll to £l6 2s 6d, and others from £6 Up. . Best cows brought from £lO to £l7 2s 6d, and others from £4 10s. There was a large entry of porkers, but prices were unchanged till the end, when values were easing. The bacon yarding was a large one, and prices were 2s a head lower. Porkers sold from £2 3s 6d to £3 4s'6d, average price per lb 73d to 9Jd; baconers, £3 6s 6d to £4 19s 6d; average, 6Jd to 7Jd.
