MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday and was attended by Messrs W. E. Shaw (chairman), C. J. Inder, G. W. Stuart, D. J. Ross and J. S. Adams. Applications ‘ for Land John Edward Cannan applied to select on renewable lease sections 1 and 2, block IV, town of Newcastle.—Application granted. , „ . Mrs Margaret McGuigan applied for a miscellaneous licence over the eastern portion of section 56, block V, Akatore S.D., 3a 2r o.l4p.—Year-to-year licence granted. Leonard Callahan applied for a miscellaneous licence over section 40, block I, Gatlins S.D., containing 5a 2r.—Year-to-year licence granted. The Public Works Department applied for permission to lease section 17, block V, town of Balclutha (Ir 14p) for a further term of six months. —Lease granted provided that at the expiration of the term the section is left in a tidy condition and free from broom and other noxious weeds. Messrs Rowe, Paterson and Grieve applied for permission to, occupy section 10a, block 111, Skipper’s Creek S.D., and all unoccupied Crown land between Run 34 and the Shotover river (195 ac., approximately) at present held under miscellaneous licence in the name of Messrs J. W. McLean and E. R. Bremner.—The applicants were granted permission to occupy the area as tenants in common in equal shares from year to year. William Walter Dallas applied for permission to occupy sections 10, 12 and 13, block, XI, Woodland S.D. (108 a 3r), at present held under miscellaneous licence by the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Company, Ltd. (estate J. D. Calder, deceased) —Application granted from year to year. William Gordon Smith applied for permission to occupy riverbed area adjoining section 17a, Kauroo Hill Settlement, 14ac, at present held under miscellaneous licence by Robert Rodger.—Mr G. Smith was granted permission to occupy the area from year to year. ' Thomas A. Hall applied for permission to occupy section 176, block XIX, Tuapeka East S.D., 16a. 3r 28p, at present held under miscellaneous licence by James H. Robertson.—Mr Hall was granted permission to occupy from year to year. Darcy Thorne Heney applied for permission to occupy blocks 111 and XX, Town of Naseby (6a Or Ip), at present held under M.L. by Alan Cain. —Mr Heney was granted permission to occupy from year to year. . , , . Margaret Boult applied for permission to occupy section 7, block XVIII, Blackstone S.D. (9a 2r 16p), at present held under miscellaneous licence in the name of the late Albert Edward Boult.—The applicant was granted permission to occupy from year to year.
