ROYAL AIR FORCE BAND

ARRIVAL IN DUNEDIN TO-DAY

The full complement of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band will arrive in Dunedin at 11.6 a.m. this morning by train and will march to the Town Hall, where the bandsmen will be introduced to their hosts and hostesses. The band will net play on the march to the Town Hall. This afternoon and evening the bandsmen will be free from duty. About 1.30 to-mor-row (Capping Day) the band will play through the city prior to leaving for the Taieri aer: drome, where it will give concerts, and be entertained during the afterncon and evening. On Thursday a big Air Force recruiting parade will be held under the command of Squadron Leader G. L. Stedman, who with the Mayor (Mr A. H. .Allen) will take the salute in the Octagon. On Thursday night a patriotic concert will be given in the Main Town Hall. The box plan is now at Begg's, where reservations may be made for 3s and 2s. As the proceeds will go t;. the local “ Comforts for Fighters ” Fund no extra charge is being made for booking. Immediately following the march past in the Octagon cn Thursday Mr A. H. Allen will address the parade, which will include all units from the Taieri aerodrome. It is anticipated that the Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, will also be in Dunedin during the band's stay.
