High School Old Boy* " gained a convincing win over Albany, f University A beat University B, though : - not without encountering stern opposi--1 tion, and Training College gained a victory over Technical Old Boys in a keen I game. Results:— I H.S. Old Boys 6, Albany nil. i University A 6, University B 2. Training College 2. Technical Old i Boys 1. 1 High School Old Boys gave Albany no " chances whatever in the first spell, the ? Red and Blacks being unable to cope with Old Boys' speedier forwards. Albany 1 put in several strong charges later, how--1 ever but there was a lack of cohesion in [ the forwards, and Old Boys beat "them 1 back. McArley scored four goals Gurr ' one and Timpany one. Both the University teams were in good form, and the A team did not get its ' goals without earning them. Six of the ' eight goals were scored from penalty corners. Rvburn scored five and Alldred [ one for the' A team, while Yule got both 1 goals for the B team. Training College played an improved i fame, and Technical Old Boys put up a stout resistance It was a very keen
match, Currie and White scoring for College, and Maxwell for Technical Old Boys. Junio?s.—High School 6. WOMEN'S MATCHES The second series of matches in the Otago Women's Hockey Association's A Grade competition was played on Saturday, with the following results:— Duncdin 2, Brighton nil. IMomona I 5, University 2. College 6, Momona II nil. Kings I 4, Otago 1. Kings 11, a bye. Kings I. with a better forward line than Otago, gained a good victory, and Momona I put on a good game to win from University. Training College was too good for Momona 11, which is a young side. Dunedin scored a win over Brighton in spite of strong defensive play by the losers. B Grade.—West Harbour 6, Momona 8. C Grade.—Section I: Momona defaulted to Bountv. Section II: Taieri 2, Otago nil.
