SERGEANT KILLED IN ACCIDENT (Per United Press Association)' WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. Sergeant Ronald Edward AshbyPeckham, R.N.Z.A.F., transferred from dangerously ill list to seriously ill list on January 31; father, Mr W. G. AshbyPeckham, Dargaville. OPERATIONS IN DESERT NEW ZEALAND CASUALTIES (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. The Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, said to-day that the only information he had received in connection with the casualty list issued yesterday recording that several members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force had been killed in action and some taken prisoner, was that these casualties occurred in the South Libyan desert while on patrol. “All I know so far is that these men were attached to a long-range desert group on patrol in that area,” he said.
