TERRITORIAL TRAINING

ATTENDANCE AT NIGHT PARADES COMPULSORY IN FUTURE (Peb United Press Association) WANGANUI, Feb. 10. "When the present three months' training period for territorials is ended 25,000 territorials in the Dominion will have finished three months' training." said the Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, to-day. It was found, he added, that after the three month's training period had ended the attendance at night parades had not been as satisfactory as was desired, and the Government had decided to make all subsequent training compulsory. The question of holding the annual two weeks' camp earlier than originally intended, he continued, was being considered by the Government, but if the date were put forward ample notice would be given to the men likely to be called up.
