RIFLE SHOOTING
KAITANGATA DEFENCE CLUB The Kaitangata Defence Rifle Club fired its final shoot of the Lee Cup on Saturday. Seven counting shots and one optional sightef were fired at 300 yards, 500 yards and .600 yards. The Lee Cup and medal were won by H. L. Morgan, the runner-up being L. G. Bell, who took the club prize. The three-range aggregate was won by B. R. Renton, with R. Kitto second and N. Rutherford third. The following were the scores:—
DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club held its fortnightly shoot on the Fairview range on Saturday, when conditions were good. A frontal fishtail wind and varying light, however, made shooting tricky. One optional sighter and nine counting shots were fired at 500 yards, the top score being recorded by O. G. Miller, with 43. The results were as follows:—O. G. Miller 43, C. J. Gamble 42, J. Benfell 41, D. Rusbatch 41, A. G. Parker 40, A. Pearce 39, W. Harbour 38. V. Percy 38, J. Lunn 38, T. A. Graham 36. The club's next shoot will be held on January 25.
