WEST HARBOUR BOROUGH

MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING The monthly meeting of the West Harbour Borough Council was held last night, and was attended by the Mayor, Mr A. Smith, and Crs J. Robb, T Rodger, W. Hudson, J. L. Page, F. Mitchell, J. Robertson, and J. Coutts. A permit was granted for the erection by the Railways Department of a residence in Bay View terrace. The Railways Department wrote asking the council to take over the unfinished road at the Sawyers' Bay deviation at a price to be agreed upon. On the recommendation of the borough engineer it was decided to advise the department that the council preferred that the department should complete the formation of the road and footpath before the council took it over. . A complaint from Mr A. Glanville. Roseneath, regarding convolvulus growing in front of his property, was referred to the inspector. Accounts amounting to £747 18s 4d were passed for payment. It was reported that there was a credit balance of £2421 9s 9d.
