The prediction that this season there would be an abnormal number of grass fires, as a result of the heavy growth this year, was made by the superintendent of the Havelock North Fire Brigade (Mr A. B. Toop) at the recent meeting of the Havelock North Town Board. It was decided to cut all grass possible on the roadsides and to buy spray outfits for use as extinguishers.
