HAND BLOWN OFF

PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE (Per United Press Association* HOKITIKA, Nov. 6. Leslie FlintolT, aged 26, single, engaged on public works near Parings Lake, South Westland, had his right hand blown off and both legs injured above the knees by an explosion when preparing a charge. He was taken to the Westland Hospital, the journey taking 16 hours.
