EDUCATION AND LOYALTY
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —“J’accuse” is quite correct when he suggests the possibility of statements with studied omissions being the designed campaign for undermining the knowledge permitted by our Socialist Government. I have made it my business to listen on many occasions to the prepared lessons given over the radio to the children of New Zealand, and have marvelled at the casual complacency of the parents of these children. To illustrate my here is one:—Southern Ireland was being illuminated as a paradise on earth, but the children were warned not to confuse it with Northern Ireland. Here the speaker left off. Russia, Germany, etc. have all received their bouquets, and these people continue their devastating work, but what can we expect? In my particular district we had a very creditable library some five years ago. To-day it is a Socialist rubbish heap, and the beautiful English magazines were discontinued before the war started—and all in the name of Socialism.—l am, etc., Nationalist.
