NATIONAL CANDIDATE MR C. G. E. BARKER NOMINATED <Per United Press Association t HASTINGS. Oct. 15. The Waipawa electorate Selection Committee of the New Zealand National Partjr to-night nominated Mr C. G. E. Harker as a candidate to contest the Waipawa seat, made vacant by the death of Mr A. E. Jull. Six nominees were considered, each addressing the delegates for 10 minutes. Intense interest was taken in the selection, the theatre being packed with members of the party from all parts of Hawke’s Bay. Mr Harker is a well-known solicitor and a former Mayor of Waipawa.
